Last ‘Hurrah’ by the Seaside

Term 2 events have been uniformly praised – so congratulations to hard-working programmers, and everyone else involved, on a very successful term.

The first WCC Enrolment Day was on the 25th of October, 1993 and was held at the Centre at Wearne Hostel. After seventeen happy, successful years at our current premises, we are about to ‘move house.’ Our first Enrolment Day at the Community Room in the new Grove Library will also be in October - a nice bit of synchronicity – but our first event there will be a presentation by Alan Fabrègues this term.

This term, following hot on the heels of our very successful talk by Jacqueline O’Brien in Term 2, our programme includes more history to intrigue and enthral members. Keep an eye out for our talk on the History of Cottesloe by Ruth Marchant, a foray into local archaeology by Dr Shane Burke, and a visit from Karen Tregenza of the Western Australian Genealogical Association. These are just a taste of what is in store for you in Term 3, so do come  along and enjoy our last ever programme at our Wearne premises.
